A group of eighteen SMU Cox MBA students enrolled in the Competitive Intelligence & War Gaming elective course recently traveled to Mexico City to “Battle for Banking in Mexico” with MBA students from IPADE Business School at Universidad Panamericana. During the three-day trip, six teams made up of three students from each university, were challenged to develop competitive intelligence on the banking industry and test their analysis through war games and scenario planning, which "help business leaders think through their strategy formulation and likely external moves of key stakeholders in a controlled environment."

The strategies were judged by banking executives, including Carlos Cordero of Santander, Carlos González of HSBC, Martin Barrios of Bank of America and Othón Moreno of Banco de México.

Congratulations to the winning team - SMU Cox Executive MBA students Christina Oliver, Kristin Hallam and Andrew Rosales, and IPADE students Luis Rodrigo Flores RamÍrez, Christiane Flynn Gutiérrez and Rafael Lira Valencia.
