A Solar Sojourn: Understanding the April 8 eclipse
When: Thursday, March 28, 12:15 – 1 p.m. CDT
Where: via Zoom (link to the webinar will be provided upon )
Dallas will be prime viewing for the solar eclipse occurring on April 8, 2024. Shadows will deepen as the moon appears to move across the face of the sun, beginning at 12:23 p.m. The moon will completely cover the sun and the sky will darken for nearly four minutes at 1:40 p.m. before the sun begins to re-appear. The eclipse event will end at 3:02 p.m.
Why does this happen? Is the moon actually moving across the face of the sun? How often does this occur, and what can scientists learn from observing these events?
The webinar will be available via Zoom. Please complete the form below by March 27 to attend. The link to the webinar will be provided upon registration.
