At Inner Moonlight / . All three poets are publishing books with SMU Project Poëtica / Bridwell Press: Luisa Muradyan’s I Make Jokes When I'm Devastated and a two-book-in-one collaboration, Tilt by Denise Duhamel and Maureen Seaton, and Beautiful People, by Aaron Smith and Maureen Seaton. The first book is part of a series for poets who have poets at least one other collection; the second book is part of a series on poetic collaboration.

Tracy K Smith will give a reading on November 10th.

Merve Emre will participate in a creative conversation with Tracy K Smith on November 11th.

Merve Emre will give a lecture on November 12th.

Keynote poet, Ada Limón. Keynote scholar, Anahid Nersessian. Keynote presenters include will Patience Agbabi, Stephanie Burt, Camille Dungy, Virginia Jackson, Ben Lerner, Adrian Matejka, Jenny Molberg, Jahan Ramazani, and Srikanth (Chicu) Reddy.

SMU Project Poëtica will be co-sponsoring the Black Studies and the Environment Symposium with Narrative Now.

 

“Black Studies and the Environmental Humanities” is a symposium considering the relationship between the environmental humanities and black studies.

 

Joshua Bennett and Sharon P. Holland will be in conversation, moderated by Samantha Pergadia

Rita Felski will give a lecture titled "On Resonance" at 5 p.m. on February 26th in the Bridwell Library. 

Terrance Hayes will be participating in a creative conversation with Rita Felski on February 25th in the Moody Graduate School Auditorium.

Terrance Hayes will give a reading on February 24th in the Bridwell Library; followed by a book signing

Erika Almenara will be hosting a Creative Writing Workshop January 29th at 6:00PM entitled “Spaces of intemperie.” In addition, on January 30th at 4:00PM she will be presenting the book The Language of the In-Between. Travestis, Post-hegemony, and Writing in Contemporary Chile and Peru. Both events will be held in Caruth Hall (Engineering School – room 147), in partnership with the Department of World Languages and Literatures.

 

Ms. Meitner will visit classes throughout the week. She will give a reading on November 4th at 4 p.m. in the Bridwell Library.

Ms. Molberg will be visiting classes on campus and giving a reading as part of their .
