Biography

Roi Tartakovsky (he/him) Senior Lecturer in the Department of English and American Studies at Tel Aviv University. His publications focus on poetry and poetics with a special emphasis on sound (especially rhyme), rhythm (especially free-verse rhythm), lineation (especially Reznikoff’s) and figurative language (especially similes and zeugmas). His book on sporadic rhyme in English and American poetry, Surprised by Sound: Rhyme’s Inner Workings, came out in 2021. In 2024 he co-edited a special issue of Poetics Today on AI.
