Laura is a First Gen, PhD student at 91制片廠合集. She completed her BA and MA at the University of Texas at San Antonio and studies twentieth century Texas and U.S. history, with a focus on the Chicano Movement and Mexican Revolution. Her research interests are geared towards the intersections of gender, race, and class in Chicana feminist activism, as well as the Mexican Revolution’s impact on memory and Mexican American social movements. In her time at SMU, she has been a recipient of a Maguire Public Service Fellowship and DCII Graduate Student Summer Research and Writing Fellowship, and her dissertation will focus on the role of Chicana-led conferences in Texas during the 1970s.
