Campus visits and tours
We’re delighted that you’d like to visit our beautiful campus to learn more about SMU and the college experience. We are also home to the George W. Bush Presidential Center and the Meadows Museum, and the University offers many performances, lectures and that are open to the public.
Please note that all group tours of the SMU campus must be scheduled in advance as we require ample time to prepare. We offer different types of visits depending on the needs of the individual or group.
High School and Transfer Students

Middle School Students
Middle school is a great time to start preparing for the college journey. SMU is committed to supporting college aspirations for everyone and works with middle schools and community-based organizations that serve middle school-age students.

For planning purposes, please note that we require one (1) chaperone for every ten (10) students for campus visits. Guided campus visit student capacity cannot exceed 50.
George W. Bush Presidential Center
, located on the eastern edge of the SMU campus, offers waived admission for K-12 field trips during the normal academic year as well as transportation subsidies for qualifying Texas Title 1 schools. The Meadows Museum
Located on Bishop Boulevard near the southern edge of the campus, waives admission for a K-12 students and offers teacher-guided and docent-led tours for student groups of up to 45 students. Groups of more than 45 must reserve additional time slots. Find more information .
