Connecting to SMU_Guest

  1. Locate the WiFi settings on your device.
  2. Connect to SMU_Guest.
  3. Launch a web browser. If the portal page does not appear, type in a web address such as smu.edu and hit enter. You should then be redirected to the portal page.
  4. Review the Terms of Use and click the checkbox next to "accept the Terms of Use."
  5. Click the Accept button to confirm your choice and be connected to the internet. 
Please Note: With the , the system no longer needs to provide credentials for access. The acceptance of the terms of use (via the check box) allows users access to the SMU_Guest wireless network for up to 72 hours.

Need Longer Access?

Users with SMU credentials, such as students, faculty, and staff, can register devices to SMU_Guest using the separate Those registered devices will have access to SMU_Guest for one year. 

For campus visitors for extended periods, an existing faculty or staff member can request a guest account with a more prolonged expiration through the IT Help Desk.
