Interfolio Use and Support

Interfolio is SMU's system of record for faculty affairs. The system contains three modules for faculty: Faculty Activity Reporting, Faculty Searches, and Promotion and Tenure. Each webpage contains explanations and resources to assist users as they interface with the Interfolio system.  

Faculty Activity Reporting at SMU

Beginning in the fall of 2025, SMU will launch a new Faculty Activity Reporting System within . A core team of associate deans from each school/college, as well as members of the Office of Faculty Success, the Office of Information Technology, and University Decision Support have been collaborating since January 2024 to make this transition as smooth as possible for SMU faculty.

Below you will find training guides, information sessions, FAQs and support contacts that further explain the FAR system.

This will show you how to create your own personalized template for generating a vita. Each school/college has adopted an "institutional template." You can also create your own.

Information sessions

During the spring 2025 term, The Office of Faculty Success will host a variety of informational touchpoint sessions. Faculty are welcome to attend any of the Zoom-based FAR Touchpoint Sessions or the Faculty Senate Information Session. Faculty leadership will receive information through regularly scheduled meetings in the spring term.

In the fall 2025 term, FAR Touchpoint Sessions will be held every second and fourth Friday of the month from 9–10 a.m. at .
