Bio

is a PhD candidate in the department's Cultural Anthropology program (Medical Anthropology track). Her research focuses on how Black Americans understand their own decision-making related to food, incorporating a place-based and health-informed perspective. As an undergraduate at George Mason University, she completed her first published research project, a podcast titled "." In 2021, she received the Anthropology of Food and Nutrition's Christine Wilson Undergraduate Award for this project. At SMU, she is the recipient of one of the university's competitive Mustang Fellowships.
