Cheyenne Reynolds-Kirkwood is a second-year graduate student in the Archaeology PhD program. Their dissertation research examines how the soil microbiome has changed throughout different fire regimes in the United States Southwest. They are interested in how Indigenous fire stewardship is different from colonial periods of fire control on the landscape and how that relates to modern day fire issues.
