Biographical Note:

Kurt Volker was the U.S. ambassador to NATO from 2008 to 2009. Previously, he also served as National Security Council acting director for European and Eurasian Affairs from 2001 to 2005 and as the principal deputy assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian Affairs from 2005 to 2008. He later served as the U.S. special representative for Ukraine negotiations from 2017 to 2019. Currently, he is a distinguished fellow at the Center for European Policy Analysis.
