February 10, 2025, will mark the 100th anniversary of legal education at SMU – and launch a yearlong celebration of the Dedman School of Law, founded in 1925 as Dallas’ first law school, it has become a widely recognized name in legal education, pro-bono community work and industry research.

Donors, alumni, supporters and the SMU community are invited to a commemoration event on February 27, 2025, in the Martha Proctor Mack Grand Ballroom within the Umphrey Lee Center. The event will recognize the impact of generations of world-changing alumni and the dedicated faculty and staff who influenced them.

The celebration will also look ahead to the school’s bright future that will enhance access to real-world experiential learning, the unique opportunities made possible by the thriving Dallas-Fort Worth business community and an invaluable network of more than 16,000 living alumni around the world.

Additional Dedman School of Law centennial events will be held in conjunction with SMU Homecoming and Reunions in fall 2025 – and throughout the year. For questions about these events, guest speakers and other opportunities, please contact Clayton Ellis, director of development, at crellis@smu.edu.
