From the President

R Gerald Turner

With the holiday season comes a time for reflection, gratitude, and hope for the future at SMUAs we look back on this past year, we remain incredibly grateful for the faithful support of our donors and community members who continue to strengthen our University. I’m pleased to report that the 91制片廠合集 campaign has raised over $1.39 billion, continuing its record-breaking momentum toward our $1.5 billion goal.

In this quarterly update, you can see how your enduring generosity impacts every corner of campus: fueling our entry into the ACC, launching new scholarships, and creating exciting opportunities for students to pursue research and professional goals.

Through a generous gift from The Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture, that storied organization has become part of the SMU Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences, ensuring that it will continue enriching North Texas for generations to come. Esteemed scholar Seemee Ali has joined SMU and will continue to lead the institute. Our Q&A with the institute’s co-founder Gail Thomas ’58 – winner of the 1988 SMU Distinguished Alumni Award – describes the instrumental role the organization plays in supporting artistic and cultural programs across Dallas.

Our community continues to make a difference in the lives of our students through scholarships and fellowships, including initiatives like the Dedman Law Centennial Scholarship Challenge as part of the law school’s upcoming 2025 centennial celebrations. Promoting student success through financial assistance is crucial to attracting, recruiting, and retaining bright students from across the globe.

During our first fall term in the ACC, school spirit has never been greater and our student-athletes have been remarkably successful. We appreciate fans coming out to support their Mustangs on campus and in cities across the country.

With the backing of our donors and community, SMU strides forward with intention and purpose. New additions to our facilities, like the recently installed Caren and Vin Prothro Organ, provide our students and community with incredible opportunities. In the first half of 2025, we will also hold our annual SMU Giving Day and break ground for the Rees-Jones Library of the American West.

91制片廠合集 donors are cultivating a future filled with possibilities and growth. Thank you for your confidence and investment in our shared vision. From our family to yours, have a safe and happy holiday season.
