Paving the Way to Inclusion: Race and Equity in Education

 

Our inaugural conference on race and equity will take an in-depth look at the social and structural forces shaping our educational communities. Keynote speaker, , the Kellner Family Distinguished Professor of Urban Education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will lead us in a conversation on race and equity in the 21st century. SMU faculty and community leaders will facilitate thought-provoking breakout sessions designed to examine and challenge thoughts, perceptions and practices about race and equity, while providing participants with resources that address the dismantling of racism and the creation of inclusive learning environments.
