Parking Information for Parents

SMU provides several options for our visitors to either purchase a temporary parking permit or use the park and pay machines or Park Mobile pay by space options located through campus.

Temporary parking permits may be obtained from the Parking and ID Card Services Office Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at $11.00 per day, online using the Parking Portal option and setting up a guest account in the system to order daily, weekly or monthly parking permit for your visit. Maps and information are based on the current academic year.

Parents, family and guests should park in visitor parking locations on campus when visiting. Loading/unloading should be pre-coordinated with the parking office if not occuring during a scheduled campus wide resident move in or move out day and time frame.  Fire lanes and disabled spaces are mandated by state law and enforced at all times. Reserved spaces must be avoided.

Parking is enforced year round. Parking is enforced during student breaks like Fall and Spring Break, Summer and Winter breaks.
