Ryan Breslawski

Research Interests:
Ryan studies the Indigenous subsistence economies of the Great Plains within an arid period known as the Middle Holocene, which dates to 8,000–5,000 years ago. In this research, he examines bison remains from archaeological sites located across the United States and Canada.
Road to the Moody School:
Ryan became interested in archaeology while growing up in the Intermountain West, where he earned a B.S. in anthropology from the University of Utah, and an M.S. in anthropology from Utah State University. He has undertaken field work in six U.S. states, with experiences ranging from historic mines, to sites left by North America’s earliest peoples at the end of the last ice age.
