Meadows Group Visits

WHAT

Groups may request to observe a class and/or rehearsal; work with one of our ensemble directors; and/or visit with the Meadows Admission Office.

WHO

Meadows Group Visits to SMU Meadows School of the Arts are for groups of 10-100 students grades 9-12* who are participating in the college search process. Group visits are limited throughout the year. Note that periodically we are unable to accommodate your request.

(*We occasionally allow Junior High School groups to visit)

At least one chaperone must be provided for every 15 students in your group.

SPECIAL NOTES

Scheduling your visit

Submit your requested visit dates (first and second choice) at least 3 weeks in advance via the . Due to space and availability limitations, some Group Visit requests may not be possible. The Group Visit is not finalized until you receive email confirmation from the Meadows Admission Office.

Please note that once detailed arrangements are made, change requests are strongly discouraged and are not guaranteed.

Lunch on Campus

SMU Meadows Admission Office cannot provide lunch coordination for Meadows Group Visits. Student groups can arrange to buy lunch on campus by contacting SMU Dining Services at 214-768-2336 in advance of their visit. Or, students are welcome to bring sack lunches, but lunches and coolers must be left on the bus. There is not a designated interior lunch space for visiting groups. We encourage you to enjoy the beautiful grassy boulevard and picnic outdoors.

Buses

Buses require parking permits from SMU and must register at least two weeks in advance. Fill out the Campus Bus Visit request form here.

Mobility-Impaired Guests

If members of your group require accommodations for a physical disability or will require physical assistance during a walking tour at SMU Meadows School of the Arts, or if you have any other special needs, please contact us a day or two before your visit at 214-768-3217.
