Portfolio Review
The SMU Division of Art is a proud member of the National Portfolio Day Association. The division participates in several in-person and virtual portfolio reviews.
Please join us on campus as we host a National Portfolio Review Day on Sunday, September 29 from 1 – 5 p.m. This completely free event is come-and-go, and prospective art students will be able to have their work reviewed by faculty from over 40 top-rated art schools across the country. Can’t make it that day? Check out the dates for our online portfolio reviews listed at the bottom of this page.

How do I register?
Registration takes place on the National Portfolio Day website; however, you will be asked to check-in when you get to the event. Head to to register!
What do I need to bring?
Please bring your work that is easy to carry or photos/videos of your work that may be more difficult to transport. Feel free to bring work in a portfolio case or even digitally on a tablet.

Where do I park?
Parking is free and available. For easy access from Interstate 75, turn right off of Mockingbird Lane onto Bishop Boulevard. Parking is available in the yellow areas marked on the map below, including the left side of the street on Bishop Blvd hugging the median and the Binkley Parking Center, accessible from Binkley Ave. The Portfolio Day event will take place at the Owen Fine Arts Center.
Will SMU be at any other portfolio reviews?
Yes! SMU’s Division of Art will be participating in other in-person and online portfolio reviews for both prospective undergraduate students and prospective graduate students. For online portfolio reviews, the Zoom application will be used. Most applicants will photograph their work and share their screen with faculty. See dates below:
